Guitarist suffers seizure during concert in Texas
Mike Scaccia, a member of the bands Ministry and Rigor Mortis, died Saturday night after collapsing during a concert in Texas. The show, a celebration of the 50th birthday of Rigor Mortis vocalist Bruce Corbitt, was interrupted when Scaccia convulsed and was taken to the hospital. Hours later, his death was announced.
Scaccia was born in New York in 1965 and formed the band Rigor Mortis in 1983. Six years later, he was invited by guitarist Al Jourgensen to join the band Ministry.
Yesterday, Corbitt posted on his Facebook that his brother had passed away. "The reason I am who I am is because of him, the best guitarist I've ever known." Jourgensen also spoke out, through Ministry's Facebook fan page, saying that he had lost his "brother and best friend."
