On Wednesday, the 11th, Mike Portnoy used his Instagram to pay a touching tribute and remember the life and career of Taylor Hawkins . The Foo Fighters passed away suddenly on March 25th, at the age of 50.
Portnoy decided to remember Hawkins by sharing a clip from the video for "Middle Child," a song he wrote for his solo project for his middle daughter, Annabelle . In the video, Taylor and his daughter are seen dancing and having fun together amidst different, mostly fantastical and very colorful, settings.
In his post, Mike Portnoy admitted that he is still trying to digest the news of the drummer's death and expressed his admiration not only for Taylor Hawkins' career with Foo Fighters and Alanis Morrissette , but also said that he "loved" his solo albums.
“Watching this video breaks my heart. What a gift to have shared something like this with his daughter. Once again, I offer my condolences to his entire family and all his bandmates,” Portnoy wrote.
Taylor Hawkins leaves behind three children: Oliver , Annabelle, and Everleigh .
