Drummer says doors are open
In an interview with Chilean radio station Radio Future, Winery Dogs drummer Mike Portnoy spoke about his former band, Dream Theater.
When asked if he would return to the band, Portnoy replied that he would do so in a heartbeat
“They were the ones who closed the doors on me. I just needed some time, and I’ve already given myself some time. Now I’m ready, willing, and qualified. But I think they’ll never call me back. They’re determined to prove themselves without me. But my doors will always be open.”
The interviewer also asked the drummer about Dream Theater's latest work. Portnoy replied that he wouldn't comment on the band's work he wasn't a part of: "If you want to talk about the 25 years I spent in the band, I'll talk about it. But I don't talk about the band's work without me because people get very upset."
