The project could be with Skolnick and Ellefson

In an interview with a fan club, drummer Mike Portnoy commented on his new, yet-to-be-revealed project. According to the musician, the work features other well-known musicians.

“This is my first completely and totally Metal album. I recorded the drums in January and now we're going to record the guitar and bass .” According to the drummer, those who follow him on Twitter have probably already figured out his bandmates: “If you did your homework, you know who I'm working with.”

On January 22nd, Portnoy posted a photo with Alex Skolnick from Testament and Dave Ellefson from Megadeth on his official Twitter account, with the caption "This would be a great band, don't you think?"

For Portnoy, the album tells the story of Metal: “There are moments that are heavily influenced by Black Sabbath, and there are moments that are very 80s Thrash. At other times, it resembles the 90s, bands like Alice In Chains.”
