Mike Patton confirms return to the stage after agoraphobia diagnosis.

The musician's first comeback shows will take place in South America.

Mike Patton has confirmed his return to the stage after canceling shows with Faith No More and Mr. Bungle last year due to "mental health reasons."

The musician will return to performing live with shows in South America with Mr. Bungle. The sets will take place in December at the Knotfest events in Chile and Brazil.

At the time of the cancellations, Mike wrote on Twitter: “I have issues that have been exacerbated by the pandemic that are challenging me now. I don’t feel I can give what I should at this time, and I won’t give less than 100%.”

“The bands support me in this decision,” he continued, “and we look forward to working through this in a healthy way.”

During an interview with Rolling Stone in July , Patton revealed that he was diagnosed with agoraphobia. “I was afraid of people,” he explained. “I was scared to be around people. And maybe it’s because I spent two years basically indoors during the COVID-19 pandemic. I don’t know. Maybe it reinforced feelings I already had.”

“This type of anxiety, or whatever you want to call it, brought up other issues that I prefer not to share. But I have some professionals helping me, and now I'm feeling better and getting closer to normal. At the end of the year, I'll be doing my first shows in, like, two years, which is the longest time I've been out of the game since I started doing this.”
