Mike Orlando: "Stereo Satellite is a band, not a side project"

The band's debut album should be released soon.

Guitarist Mike Orlando spoke with the American publication Loudwire and talked about his new band, Stereo Satellite.

Following the fatal accident that claimed the lives of bassist David Z Rock and manager Jane Train, Adrenaline Mob needed time away from the public eye.

Now, back to the music, the guitarist explains that his new band isn't a side project, "It started a while ago, actually. Whenever I had free time from Adrenaline Mob, I'd write these songs that were totally different from ours. But then the band started getting too busy, so I had to put that aside."

Orlando goes on to say that after the accident, returning to Adrenaline Mob is not an option, "There's a lot of pain surrounding the band and I believe that for now it's better to work on other things ," he says.

By inviting John Moyer (Disturbed), Jordan Cannata (Adrenaline Mob), and Lukas Rossi (Rock Star Supernova), the musician formed Stereo Satellite, a band he believes appeals to a less restricted audience than his former group, "I always wanted to make a more mainstream and commercial sound than that heavy sound we used to make."

“Stereo Satellite is a band, not a side project. This isn’t just something we want to do for the sake of doing it. We’re putting our heart and soul into it and we’re going to do our best to go on a world tour.”

Stereo Satellite has not yet announced a release date for their debut album, but in the meantime you can check out the track "Glass Houses" below.

The accident involving Adrenaline Mob happened in July 2017 when a truck slid off the road and collided with the band's trailer, which was on the shoulder due to a flat tire. The collision caused a fire that was brought under control by the fire department.
