Dream Theater's new album will be released in 2019
The progressive metal band, Dream Theater , is in the studio working on a new album, the successor to The Astonishing , released in 2016.
The band released a video of drummer Mike Mangini finishing his part on the recording. "We finished the drum parts and I couldn't be happier – a great team effort," said Mangini.
Vocalist James LaBrie spoke about the material, saying, "There's a heaviness, an aggression," while guitarist John Petrucci added, "So far the music is heavy, progressive, melodic, fast, and epic; it has all those elements…they are the five pillars of Dream Theater."
The band's next album will be their 14th studio album and the first to be released by InsideOut Music, which is owned by Sony Music.
