Clutch announced that their former keyboardist, Mick Schauer , has passed away. The band shared the news and paid tribute to their friend, speaking about how he helped the group evolve in the 2000s.
Schauer appeared on the 2005 Robot Hive/Exodus From Beale Street to Oblivion . In addition to keyboards, the musician was credited with playing the Hammand organ, Hohner Clavinet, and Wurlitzer electric piano. He also appeared on the 2008 live DVD, Full Fathom Five .
In addition to Clutch, he played in Vampire Circus and the Bakerton Group . Clutch's statement can be read below:
“We are saddened to announce the passing of Mick Schauer. Mick was incredibly talented and his absence will be deeply felt. His contribution to the albums Robot Hive/Exodus and From Beale Street to Oblivion brought a fresh sound to the band at a time when we were exploring new territories. Mick helped us achieve our goals and more. He was also a powerful force live. His natural abilities are unmatched and his love for music made us play better. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to make music with you, Mick!”
