Mick Mars has confirmed that he is open to working with Mötley Crüe again.

In an interview with Audacy Check In , Mick admitted that the harsh statements made between him and the band led most fans to believe that his relationship with the rest of Mötley Crüe was ruined, which is not the case. “If Mötley wanted me to write songs with them again, of course I would,” the guitarist confirmed. “But right now, it’s just me. So I’m writing and it’s not Mötley, it’s how I feel. My ideas, my kind of thing. I’m trying to reinvent myself and update myself.”

In 2022, Mick Mars, co-founder of Mötley Crüe, announced his retirement from performing live due to his painful battle with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), but that he would continue with the band in studio recordings.

In 2023, Mars filed a lawsuit against the band , of which he had been a member for the past 41 years, alleging financial losses and claiming that the members of Mötley Crüe expelled him in a "unilateral decision."

Mick Mars and solo career

Mick Jagger's debut solo album, The Other Side of Mars , was just released on February 23rd by 1313 LLC – Mick's own label – in partnership with MRI. The guitarist expressed his enthusiasm in releasing his first solo work after more than 40 years in the business. “It took me 40 years because Motley was the priority. Now that I'm retired, it's just me.”

The album features Jacob Bunton , who has worked with Steven Adler (former Guns N' Roses ) and Tom Keifer ( Cinderella ), and who sings on all 12 songs except "Undone" and "Killing Breed," which feature Brion Gamboa . Other album guests include keyboardist Paul Taylor ( Winger /ex- Alice Cooper) , drummer Ray Luzier ( Korn ), and bassist Chris Collier —who is also credited with mixing and mastering.
