Mick Mars plans to write his autobiography when he is about to die.

Guitarist released his first solo album 'The Other Side of Mars'

Mick Mars gave a new interview to Robert Cavuoto of My Global Mind , in which he was asked if he plans to write an autobiography at some point.

Mötley Crüe guitarist replied: “I probably will, but probably – I’ve been saying this for a long time – when I’m dying, then I can write backwards. So if you want to read forwards, start at the end. I don’t know.”

The Mötley Crüe biography  , released in 2001,  The Dirt: Confessions Of The World's Most Notorious Rock Band, consisted largely of direct accounts from the band members. The other three members of Mötley Crüe have already released autobiographies.

Drummer Tommy Lee's autobiography , Tommyland, was published in October 2004. Vocalist Vince Neil released Tattoos & Tequila: To Hell And Back With One Of Rock's Most Notorious Frontmen in 2010, telling his side of the story about Mötley Crüe's rise to fame. In 2021, bassist Nikki Sixx released an autobiography called The First 21: How I Became Nikki Sixx , in which he revealed family secrets and the origins of his desire for success.

Mick J. Mars' debut solo album, The Other Side of Mars , was released on February 23rd by 1313 LLC – Mick's own label – in partnership with MRI. The guitarist expressed his enthusiasm in releasing his first solo work after more than 40 years in the business. “It took me 40 years because Mötley Crüe was the priority. Now that I'm retired, it's just me.”

The musician also confirmed that he has more new material ready to release.
