Mick Jagger will be one of the stars of the new film by Italian director Giuseppe Capotondi . The Burnt Orange Heresy will premiere at the closing of the Venice Film Festival, which takes place between August 28 and September 7.
Based on the novel of the same name by Charles Willeford , the drama stars Danish actor Claes Bang , Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki , and Canadian actor Donald Sutherland . Jagger plays Joseph Cassidy , a wealthy art collector obsessed with the painter Jerome Debney , played by Sutherland, who proposes to a young couple that they steal a masterpiece from the artist's studio.
The legendary Rolling Stones member has previously acted in films such as Confessions of a Seducer (2001) and Shine a Light (2008), directed by Martin Scorsese . The Burnt Orange Heresy will premiere outside of the competition and will therefore not be eligible for awards.
