Mick Jagger responds to Paul McCartney's comments about the Rolling Stones

During a concert, Mick Jagger alluded to the comment that the Stones were "a blues cover band"

After Paul McCartney 's recent comments about the Rolling Stones being "a blues cover band," Mick Jagger decided to respond in a humorous way.

In a recent interview with The New Yorker , McCartney revived the age-old comparison between the two classic bands, saying that the Beatles was "a little more encompassing" than the Stones'. Jagger's response came during a show in Los Angeles last Thursday, the 14th.

During a break to talk to the audience, the Rolling Stones' lead singer said into the microphone: “There are so many celebrities here tonight. Megan Fox is here, she's a sweetheart. Leonardo DiCaprio . Lady Gaga . Kirk Douglas . Paul McCartney is here, he's going to help us out – he's going to join us for a blues cover later.”

The subtle jabs between the members of the two bands are an old story and are currently taken in good humor. McCartney always goes to Stones shows when he can and had already made the same observation before about the Beatles having more references, adding that his colleagues in the Rolling Stones are "a fantastic band".
