Mick Jagger features on the new song “Empty Chairs” by Burna Boy , a Nigerian composer, producer, and Grammy winner. The track appears on Burna Boy's recently released album, No Sign of Weakness .
Burna Boy met the Rolling Stones through Naomi Campbell , a mutual friend of both artists. Soon after, they began exchanging musical ideas via WhatsApp.
In a recent interview with AP , Bruna Boy said, “ No Sign of Weakness is really like a celebration of the fact that I’m still here all these years and through all the trials and tribulations. I intentionally decided to make sure that everyone on this project could comfortably and genuinely say that they are rock stars.”
Mick Jagger has been a fan of rap and hip hop for a long time. In an interview with Brut America in late 2023 , he named British rapper Dave as one of his favorites and added that [via Ultimate Classic Rock ] “there are many, many very good [rappers]”.
Jagger also commented that he recorded a rap-inspired song that didn't make it onto the Rolling Stones' 2023 Hackney Diamonds
