The contest was open until Tuesday, February 9th, at 4 PM. The winning answer was from Fábio Mattos :
"Michael Schenker was one of my first guitar heroes, a guitar virtuoso who did exceptional work in the British band UFO, influencing a generation of musicians and being very relevant in the history of the heavier rock genre, having been one of the founders of the classic German Heavy Metal band – Scorpions.".
Answering the question, my favorite Michael Schnecker song is "Lost Horizons" from the self-titled debut album of his own band: The Michael Schenker Group. "Lost Horizons," at over 7 minutes long, is the album's closing track and is unlike anything I had heard up to that point. In a prog metal style, with a slower, heavier tempo and an atmospheric sound—in my opinion, pioneering for its time—it's the best track on the album. Gary Barden's vocals fit the song perfectly. And, added to that, the "atmospheric and heavy rhythm section," expertly executed by Simon Phillips' devastating drumming, Mo Foster's bass, and the superb keyboards of the excellent Don Airey, forged this beautiful gem. However, the highlight of this track is the solo at the end, where Michael showcases his virtuosity, genius, and his entire guitar arsenal. This song foreshadowed what was to come in Michael Schenker's new direction, which was proven in subsequent albums, and influenced many bands that were looking for a more "heavy and anguished" sound

Rules of the Cultural Contest: KIT MICHAEL SCHENKER Promotion
FORMUSIC PORTAL DE INTERNET E SERVIÇOS ARTÍSTICOS LTDA-ME (“FORMUSIC”), located at Rua Bernardino de Campos, 277 – Centro in the city of Indaiatuba/SP, registered with CNPJ under number 15.565.819/0001-73, promotes this Cultural Contest with the objective of offering entertainment and stimulating the creativity of the participants.
1. PARTICIPATION
1.1 All individuals domiciled in Brazil are eligible to participate in the Contest, excluding agents with management functions, partners, directors, executives and employees of WIKIMETAL. In addition, any person or employee of an organization that is directly or indirectly involved in any aspect of this Contest may not participate.
2. VALIDITY PERIOD
2.1 The Contest will begin on February 2nd, 2021 and end at 4 PM on February 9th, 2021, and may be extended at the sole discretion of WIKIMETAL.
3. DISCLOSURE
3.1 The contest and its dynamics will be publicized on Social Networks (Facebook/Twitter/Youtube) and official WIKIMETAL internet pages.
4. CONTEST DYNAMICS
4.1 To participate in the contest, participants must, during the validity period, create a sentence answering “ What is your favorite Michael Schenker song and why? ”, and send it to the address [email protected] . Participants may send as many sentences or texts as they wish, provided they are submitted individually (one per email), and related to the theme of this contest.
4.2 The phrase or text must be entirely original and relevant to the Contest theme.
4.3 The content of the material is the sole and exclusive responsibility of the participant, who must respect Brazilian laws. A phrase containing citations of existing creations will not be disqualified, but the judging will follow the criteria indicated in item 5.1 of these Rules.
4.4 All entries will be moderated to verify compliance with the terms of these rules. Phrases or texts considered inappropriate will be removed from the contest without any need for communication to the participant. In case of repeated submission of inappropriate phrases or texts, the participant is subject to cancellation of their participation in the contest.
4.5 The phrases or texts submitted are intended to promote cultural context. By submitting them, the participant agrees to the legal terms for the assignment of copyright contained therein, allowing WIKIMETAL to use them on Social Networks and the Official Website (and any other communication) for a period of 5 (five) years throughout the national territory, without any monetary compensation being due to the participant.
5. EVALUATION CRITERIA
5.1 The phrases or texts will be judged by the Contest Committee, based on (i) Creativity; (ii) Originality; (iii) Suitability to the Contest theme.
5.2 The phrases or texts must be created by the participant themselves and must be in accordance with the contest theme. Participants must own all copyrights to the material they submit to WIKIMETAL.
5.3 Any entry that, at the discretion of the Contest Committee, is considered inappropriate will be automatically disqualified without notice to the participant. WIKIMETAL is not responsible for entries that contain third-party rights.
5.4 The judging committee will have absolute authority and discretion in selecting the winners, and its decision will be final and unappealable. By participating in this contest, participants expressly waive any right to question the criteria adopted, with the judging committee's criteria always prevailing.
5.5 If more than one participant submits an identical phrase or text, the tiebreaker will be determined based on the date and time the email was sent.
6. PRIZES, ANNOUNCEMENT AND DELIVERY METHOD
6.1 The winner(s) of the contest will be awarded 1 CD
By Invitation Only (2011), 1 CD Walk The Stage “The Highlights” (2013), 1 T-shirt, 1 official photo, and 1 official towel. The prizes offered are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for money. No prize substitution will be permitted, except in cases where it becomes necessary for justifiable reasons or reasons beyond the control of WIKIMETAL.
6.2 The selection of the winners of the Cultural Contest will be made by the Contest Committee at WIKIMETAL headquarters, and the final result will be announced on October 4, 2017, through Social Networks (Facebook/Twitter/Youtube) and WIKIMETAL's official internet pages.
6.3 The winner(s) will be informed by WIKIMETAL, which will provide instructions for receiving the prize.
7. LOSS OF RIGHT TO THE PRIZE
7.1 The winning participant(s) who do not claim the prize within the period stipulated in these rules will lose the right to receive the prize, and WIKIMETAL, at its sole discretion, may award the prize to another participant.
7.2 The participant(s) declare that they are aware of the characteristics of the prize and that untimely withdrawal will prevent them from enjoying the prize due to its nature.
8. DISQUALIFICATION
8.1 Participants will be immediately disqualified from this Cultural Contest if they:
a. Fail to comply with any condition of the regulations;
b. Commit an illegal or illicit act or act that violates the objectives and rules of the Contest;
c. Submit phrases containing content about alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, drugs, nudity, pornography (including child pornography), are against the law, impute the practice of a crime, violate morality, good customs, or have an offensive connotation to third parties;
d. Use systems, software, and other automatic, repetitive, or programmed tools or methods that create conditions for sending phrases [reports], browsing, participating, or voting that are considered by the Contest Committee as irregular, unfair practices or that violate the recreational objectives of this Contest. The Contest Committee may, at its discretion, suspend or exclude the participant in case of suspicion or evidence that he or she has used such artifice without prior notice.
9. CLARIFICATIONS
9.1 Any and all questions about this Contest may be sent to the Contest Committee, formed by WIKIMETAL professionals, via email at [email protected] .
10. GENERAL PROVISIONS
10.1 By sending an email to this Cultural Contest, the participant tacitly declares that he or she agrees to all the terms of these Regulations and unconditionally authorizes, in the event of being awarded, WIKIMETAL to freely and gratuitously use his or her name, voice and image for advertising and promotional campaigns related to the Contest, throughout the national territory, for a period of 05 (five) years from the date of the award.
10.2 Participants in this Contest definitively, freely, irrevocably, and unretractably assign all their copyright to the creation of the phrases or texts [stories] submitted for commercial or non-commercial, advertising, promotional, and/or institutional use by WIKIMETAL, for dissemination through any form or means.
10.3 Access and access conditions (type of hardware, software, provider, connection, and other conditions) to the website of this recreational Contest are the sole responsibility of the participant. WIKIMETAL is not responsible for access and means of sending emails, nor does it guarantee that access to the official website and social networks of WIKIMETAL will be free from interruptions, interventions, or suspensions caused by unforeseen events, internal or external, force majeure, or other events not entirely subject to its control, thus exempting itself from any liability arising from such facts or acts.
10.4 Any and all situations not foreseen in these Regulations, as well as any omissions, will be decided exclusively by the WIKIMETAL Contest Committee.
10.5 The Committee reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to alter the terms of these Regulations, informing the participants of this Contest in advance and always seeking to ensure its legality without prejudice to its participants.
10.6 The selection and acquisition of prizes or any other obligation of WIKIMETAL will be carried out at its sole discretion, and observing the provisions and limits of these regulations.
10.7 The distribution of prizes in this Cultural Contest falls under the category of Cultural Contest, which is exempt from authorization by CEF, under the terms of articles 3, item II, of Law No. 5.768/1971 and article 30 of Decree No. 70.951/72, since the purpose of the Cultural Contest is strictly recreational and not subject to any form of chance, risk, purchase of the product or payment by the participants.
10.8 The jurisdiction of the District of Indaiatuba, State of São Paulo, is chosen to settle any issues that may arise from this regulation.
