Bullet For My Valentine will release their seventh album in November. Songwriting for the self-titled project began shortly after the release of Gravity (2018), but only came to fruition during social isolation, something that was beneficial for the band, according to Michael Padge .

The album's release was delayed due to production delays caused by the pandemic, but it was also the time away from the road that allowed the group to "put their heart and soul into this project," as the guitarist explained in an interview with The Wikimetal Happy Hour . "We went through a lot of obstacles [to finish the album], I think it's one of our best. Definitely the heaviest," he added.

Even with all the members in the UK, restrictions between countries created some problems in getting everyone together in one place. The solution was to work separately, each from their own home or nearby studios. “We managed to make it work and, thankfully, it was very good because it gave us more time to write, more focus on what we wanted to compose. So, really, the pandemic benefited us in a very positive way. We need another one,” Padge joked. “Another pandemic in two years to record a new album!”

Despite the long period spent composing the songs, the extra time helped the band when it came time to finally record everything. “Everyone knew what they were doing, (…) it was the easiest album I’ve ever recorded. At least for me, I’m not the vocalist, but it was very easy,” he said.
