Metallica has announced that they will be returning to the stage sometime in 2020… but not in the way you might imagine.
The band will record a performance and stream it to various drive-in theaters in the United States and Canada on August 29th. This performance, in a format that prioritizes safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, is part of the Encore Drive-In Nights .
As is typical of a classic show, the performances will feature an opening act, which will be Three Days Grace .
Tickets will be available here for Fifth Member fan club members starting Wednesday, August 12th, and for the general public starting Friday, August 14th.
