The band is currently touring Asia
Metallica China for the first time ever on the 13th and 14th in Shanghai. In a press conference after the shows, drummer Lars Ulrich revealed that the band filmed the entire performance and that the footage is set to become a documentary.
“During our stay here we thought about celebrating this moment by documenting and sharing this experience ,” said the drummer. Ulrich also indicated that the documentary may include material from local bands, to help promote the work of bands from the country. “Metallica’s relationship with China could last for decades .
Metallica is currently touring Asia. The band's next release is the 3D film " Through The Never ," which will premiere on September 27th in the US.
