The celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the release of Metallica 's Black Album continue in full swing, and now the band has released a video of former bassist Jason Newsted opening the highly anticipated deluxe box set of the album.
The musician, who joined the band in 1986 after the death of Cliff Burton and remained until 2001, was presented with a huge box filled with Metallica merchandise and memorabilia.
In a video just over 15 minutes long, the bassist appears on a balcony wearing a cowboy hat, showing off the contents of the box while telling stories about the album's production.
The deluxe box set includes the remastered album on LP and double 180-gram CD, three live LPs, 14 CDs and six DVDs with previously unreleased content, including live performances, rough mixes, demos, three guitar picks, a 120-page hardcover book with never-before-seen photos and many other collectible items.
In addition, Metallica will release The Metallica Blacklist , an edition of the classic album featuring 53 cover songs recorded by artists from different musical genres, such as Miley Cyrus, Phoebe Bridgers, OFF!, Biffy Clyro, St. Vincent , and many more.
The box set is now available for pre-order and will be released on September 10th, along with the re-release of the Black Album and Blacklist . See the unboxing below.
