On November 6th, Metallica held a concert to celebrate the legacy of Jon Zazula and his wife Marsha Zazula , founders of Megaforce Records . The label was responsible for releasing the band's first albums.

The performance took place in Florida, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood , and was recorded and made available to fans on website . The band Raven , who participated in Metallica's first tour, was in charge of opening for them.

In a statement , Metallica commented on their relationship with the record label owner: “Jonny released our first albums on his Megaforce Records label, and put us on the road for our first real tour. With Marsha by his side, he was a mentor, a manager, a record label executive, and a father figure to all of us. We wouldn’t be where we are today without them both. Sadly, we recently lost Jonny and Marsha, just over a year apart.”

In addition to video messages, the tracks played at the show were only from the first two albums, Kill 'Em All (1983) and Ride The Lightning (1984), since Zazula was the one who bet on the band: "Jon and Marsha Zazula are the reason Metallica exists today and the reason for its strength even after 40 years and its music connecting with so many people," said drummer Lars Ulrich during the event.

The tribute in question is also part of a charity campaign, with a portion of the money being donated. The chosen institutions were Metallica's own All Within My Hands charity, which supports people in need around the world, and MusiCares , which helps musicians facing difficulties.
