The super special edition of The Black Album will only be fully available in September, but Metallica has been teasing fans with some surprises, such as " Nothing Else Matters " sung by Miley Cyrus , and "Sad But True" in two versions: one by singer St. Vincent and the other a country version by Jason Isbell .

The latest news is the rough mix of "The Unforgiven," dated May 14, 1991. This rarity is part of the double CD that will be included in the deluxe box set titled "Rough and Alternative Mixes ." You can listen to it at the end of this post.

Other rare versions of Metallica classics have also been released recently, such as demos of " Enter Sandman " and " Sad But True ," as well as a rehearsal recording of " Holier Than Thou " from 1990. For the reissue of The Black Album , the band invited more than 50 artists to reinterpret their songs. In addition to those already mentioned above, the list includes names such as Mac DeMarco , Rina Sawayama , Weezer , Royal Blood , Volbeat, Phoebe Bridgers , and J Balvin .
