More than a year after the start of the pandemic that led to the cancellation of Metallica in Brazil, the group is still trying to recover from the losses.

The band filed a lawsuit against the insurance company Lloyd's Of London, alleging that it failed to cover financial losses after being forced to postpone six shows in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Metallica was scheduled to perform in four Brazilian cities – Porto Alegre, Curitiba, São Paulo, and Belo Horizonte – and, according to information from City News Service (via Blabbermouth ), the band filed a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging that the insurer's standard policy regarding "cancellation, abandonment, and no-show insurance" was not honored.

In the process, the group continues to contest the insurer's position and calls the action "an irrationally restrictive interpretation of the policy." Metallica alleges that there was a breach of contract and seeks compensation for the damages.
