Metallica has experienced a newfound popularity among a younger audience since the hit song "Master of Puppets" appeared in a pivotal scene of the TV series  Stranger Things .

With the increase in searches for the band, some older fans expressed discontent with the potential arrival of new listeners who hadn't shown interest in the group before, but Metallica themselves put an end to the situation and scolded these more "conservative" fans.

In a post on TikTok , a platform where "Master of Puppets" is being widely played, the band wrote: "Just so you know: EVERYONE is welcome in the Metallica Family. Whether you've been a fan for 40 hours or 40 years, we all have a connection to the music." And they added: "You all started from scratch someday."

In a post on Instagram , Metallica also expressed their excitement about the choice of one of their songs for one of the most important scenes in the Netflix . The band, which personally granted permission for the use of the track , said they were "blown away" by the final result and that their participation is a "great honor."

“It’s so extremely well-done… So well-done that some fans were able to guess what song it was Joseph Quinn ’s hands touching for a few seconds in the trailer! It’s a great honor to be such a big part of Eddie [character’s] journey and once again to be a companion to the other incredible artists on the show,” they wrote. Previously, the song “The Four Horsemen” was used in the second season.

Another band that showed support for Stranger Things and the honorable mentions of heavy metal was Iron Maiden , who commented on their social media about a scene involving the character Eddie Munson and the album Piece of Mind (1983).
