In preparation for the release of the massive box set The Metallica Blacklist and the remaster of The Black Album on September 10th, Metallica has been releasing some previews of the work, including a demo of "Enter Sandman," a version of "Nothing Else Matters" with Miley Cyrus and Elton John , and more.
Now, the group has shared a demo and a St. Vincent version of "Sad But True." The reinterpretation brings a futuristic feel to the track, which comes with a video that you can listen to below.
This version is just one of several unreleased recordings that the group has set aside to include in the new version of their self-titled album. The remaster of The Black Album will feature, in addition to the demos, some live versions and other Metallica recordings.
The Metallica Blacklist will feature over 50 artists creating their own versions of the band's classic album . "One album, 12 songs, 53 artists, countless possibilities," the band wrote when announcing the news.
