Metallica announced on Monday, March 4th, a partnership between their All Within My Hands foundation and the Carrhart brand to celebrate International Women's Day. The goal is to donate the first $250,000 from women's clothing sales to fund the initiative.

The company explains the project ( via Carhartt ): “Skilled jobs are facing a labor shortage, with over three million jobs currently open in our country. At Carhartt , we are committed to connecting future workers with business programs in their own communities. That’s why we created the For the Love of Work . Awarded throughout the year to like-minded organizations dedicated to educating, training, and placing workers in skilled jobs.”

According to the AWMH , women represent only 4% of the skilled workforce in the US. Therefore, the partnership believes that by providing this support, female workers will have a better chance of building their careers in the job market. This is because demand is high, but hiring often goes unmet due to a lack of qualified candidates.

Metallica's philanthropy

The American band started All Within My Hands in 2017. Since then, they have made numerous donations. Some examples include aid to the earthquake that struck Syria and Turkey in 2023, funds for community colleges , financial support during the COVID-19 pandemic , and various other actions. These range from combating hunger and food insecurity to funding training people for the corporate world.

During the pandemic in 2020, the musicians held live streams to raise donations for their institution, and today they continue to hold events and shows for the same purpose.
