Metallica, Slipknot , and Tool are among the nominees for the Billboard Music Awards , along with several other pop and rap artists, such as Post Malone.
Metallica was nominated for Top Touring Artist and Top Rock Tour while Slipknot made the list for Best Rock Album with We Are Not Your Kind , along with Tool for Fear Inoculum Maynard James Kennan 's group also made the list for Top Rock Artist.

The ceremony will take place on October 14th at The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and will be hosted by Kelly Clarkson . The categories were based on Billboard chart results between March 23, 2019, and March 14, 2020. The event was originally scheduled for April but had to be postponed due to the pandemic.
