Metallica has just announced the second phase of releasing their discography on vinyl . This next stage Garage, Inc., St. Anger, Death Magnetic, and Hardwired…To Self-Destruct .
The first release will be Garage, Inc. , on April 5th. It's a 1998 compilation where the band showcases their versions of famous rock tracks, including Thin Lizzy . The new pressing will be on limited edition 'Fade To Blue' colored vinyl (140g).
Next, on May 3rd, it will be the turn of St. Anger (2003) pressed on a limited edition 140g colored vinyl 'Some Kind Of Orange'. Following that, Death Magnetic from 2008 arrives on June 7th and will be pressed on a limited edition 140g colored vinyl 'Magnetic Silver'.
Finally, on July 5th, a limited edition 180g 'Flame Orange' colored vinyl will be released, featuring Hardwired…To Self-Destruct (2016). The album includes the hits “Moth Into Flame” and “Halo On Fire”.
The first phase of the vinyl re-release of Metallica albums
Last year Metallica released their first five albums on limited edition colored vinyl. Between November 2023 and March 2024, a new album was released.
The albums chosen for the first phase were Kill 'Em All (1983), Ride The Lightning (1984), Master Of Puppets (1986), …And Justice For All (1988) and their self-titled 1991 album, better known as The Black Album .
