Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has recently been revealing various interesting facts about his preferences and even dislikes within Metallica and the music world. And now, he has surprised everyone with his choice for his all-time favorite songwriter.
In an interview with one of the editions of Classic Rock , the drummer revealed that his chosen artist doesn't reside in the heavy metal genre, but rather in rock, and more specifically, in Brit rock, selecting Noel Gallagher of Oasis as his favorite.
“The hardest thing for me in the world – trust me, we know this firsthand – is writing a simple song. And the shorter, simpler one, the harder it is,” says the artist. “Those great Oasis songs – 'Wonderwall,' 'Live Forever,' 'Supersonic' – if you hear Noel perform them with just guitar and vocals, it’s incredible what those songs show when you’re naked and vulnerable like that.”
