Originally released on June 4, 1996, Load was Metallica's second album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200, a position it held for four consecutive weeks.
Recorded in 1995 at The Plant in Sausalito, California, the album, along with ReLoad , marked another historic chapter in the band's catalog, with James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett , and Jason Newsted in peak creative form.
Currently, the band is in the middle of the M72 , which continues touring the world with a powerful line-up of guest bands: Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies.
