Metallica released a statement on social media clarifying doubts about the shows that were to take place in South America in April. The band had performances scheduled in the cities of Porto Alegre, Curitiba, São Paulo, and Belo Horizonte .

The dates have not yet been released, but the band confirmed that the shows will take place in December. In the statement, they explain that, although they have already gone through difficult times, this one is different, and that, unfortunately, due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus, the dates will need to be postponed.

They reassured fans by saying that more details will be released this week, such as the new dates and the refund process for those who choose to opt for one. The group also spoke about the opening band, Greta Van Fleet , confirming their presence on the new dates.

The band says they may need to change the venues for the shows due to scheduling changes, but everything will be announced soon. The statement ends with a message to fans: “Go spend time with those you love, your children, pets, parents… Whoever is close to you. Create playlists, watch movies, try playing board games, and most importantly, stay safe.”

See the full statement below, and for now, we can only wait for news about the tour.
