Metallica plays the American national anthem at the San Francisco Giants game; watch it

James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett performed remotely last Wednesday, the 23rd

Last Wednesday, the 23rd, James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica remotely performed the American national anthem at the San Francisco Giants' game against the Colorado Rockies.

The band, which annually performs at Metallica Night promoted by the San Francisco team, was prevented from attending the stadiums due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this did not stop the duo from being present, honoring their country and team in a more relaxed way. The video even shows flags in the background of the studio, including the one on the right which appears to have been a gift from a Brazilian fan club.

Recently, Metallica was nominated for Billboard Music Awards in the categories of Top Touring Artist and Top Rock Tour . Slipknot and Tool were also nominated for the American awards.
