As promised , Lollapalooza Chicago will opt for the only way to let fans enjoy lots of music amidst the pandemic: virtually. And the event, named Lolla 2020 , comes with a packed lineup and will take place from Thursday, July 30th, to Sunday, August 2nd, on the festival's YouTube channel.
Names like Metallica, Paul McCartney, The Cure, Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine, Jane's Addiction, Gary Clark Jr., Tenacious D., and Toni Cornell will be on the program, which will feature reprise performances by the artists from past editions of the festival.
The burning question: the schedule. Check out the timetable , which includes all the shows from the virtual event and appearances, featuring names like Taylor Hawkins from Foo Fighters , Lars Ulrich from Metallica, and even former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama .
The weekend highlights include Gary Clark Jr.'s 2019 show at 7 PM (Brasilia time), Jane's Addiction at 9:45 PM, and Pearl Jam's show at the 2018 edition of Lolla Brasil at 10:40 PM, all on Saturday, the 1st.
The festival will also be collecting donations during the event for the organizations Alliance Illinois , Chicago DCASE , When We All Vote , and Equal Justice Initiative . To help these NGOs, purchases of exclusive merchandise from this edition will be available.
