Just as they did last year , Metallica participated in the opening of the San Francisco Giants baseball game, this time against the Miami Marlins.
The pre-game events featured several moments involving Metallica, with Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield playing the national anthem in an instrumental arrangement with both guitars, drummer Lars Ulrich throwing the ball out of the game, James announcing the home team's lineup, and bassist Robert Trujillo hanging out with Lars.
