Band makes entire catalog available online
In a press conference on December 6th, Lars Ulrich and Sean Parker, current Spotify investor and co-founder of Napster, announced that Metallica had reached an agreement with Spotify to make their music available online.
The statement is historic, considering Metallica's long-standing feud with Napster. In the press conference, Ulrich explained that the conflict was never about money, but about the band's control over their music.
Ulrich also said that now, looking back, he wishes he had handled the situation differently. For the drummer, the story ended up becoming a conflict between Metallica and their own fans.
