Metallica 's classic ballad "Nothing Else Matters" has just reached 1 billion streams on Spotify. This is the band's second song to achieve this milestone, the first being "Enter Sandman" in December of last year.
“Nothing Else Matters”, from The Black Album (1991), reached the milestone in just ten years, since Metallica only officially released their music on the platform in December 2012.
Now, the group has two songs in the Billions Club , a playlist created in 2020 that includes all Spotify songs that have reached this milestone. After achieving this, Spotify presents the artists with a Billions Club plaque.
Metallica joins other artists – including Survivor ABBA 's "Dancing Queen," and Whitney Houston – in achieving this milestone. The achievement has been reached by nearly 500 tracks so far.
