Virginia Tech college football team Metallica 's classic "Enter Sandman" as they enter the field.

On September 3rd, the team was greeted with such a boisterous welcome by the 66,000 fans in the stadium that the magnitude of the crowd's enthusiasm was recorded on a seismograph, a device that measures the intensity of earthquakes.

The date marked the return of fans to stadiums and required that everyone present be vaccinated.
