Albums by Metallica, Nirvana, and Guns N' Roses are chosen as the best albums of 1991.

The survey was conducted with Wikimetal voters during the month of August.

Thirty years ago, the rock and metal release calendar boasted some of the genre's greatest classics to this day, marking the peak of commercial success for bands like Metallica , Nirvana , and Guns N' Roses Wikimetal readers , these bands were responsible for the best albums of 1991.

Wikimetal team selected the favorites from that year. The reasons for choosing each title were discussed in episode #329 of the podcast , in a conversation about the importance and relevance of the albums mentioned.

The Black Album , a watershed moment in Metallica's career, was voted the best album of 1991 by a wide margin: 37% of the votes crowned the thrash metal giants' fifth studio album as the highest quality and most relevant release among the contenders. Recently, the band released a commemorative edition with 250 tracks and The Blacklist , an album of covers from artists of various styles.

In second place, with 17% of the votes, Nirvana appears with Nevermind and one of the most iconic album covers in rock history. Taking third place with the bronze medal, the double album Use Your Illusion by Guns N' Roses completes the podium with 12% of the public's preference.

In previous polls, Wikimetal's audience voted Led Zeppelin 's Led Zeppelin as the best album of 1971. In the following decade, Iron Maiden 's Killers was chosen as the best of 1981.
