Metallica has a new line of Blackened whiskey , created to the sound of the band's songs such as "Sad But True," "One," "Fuel," and "The Unforgiven," to name a few.

Just like the whiskies made to the sound of the orchestra on the S& M2 , released in October 2020 , the new drinks were directly influenced by the band's classics. This time, the selection was based on songs with a lower hertz frequency to bring a more specific flavor.

The technique known as sonic enhancement is used in all Blackened products to intensify the flavor. “It’s the process of using certain frequencies of sound waves to affect the interior of the barrel. When applied correctly, the sound waves cause the barrel and the liquid inside it to move, (…) resulting in a deeper penetration of the beverage into the wood,” explains the official website .

Each batch has a specific playlist personally curated by the band members, and all can be accessed on Spotify . The Blackened x Willett line is the result of a partnership between Blackened American Whiskey , the band's brand, and distillation expert Drew Kulsveen , and is part of the Master of Whiskey Series .
