According to a recent publication by the British newspaper The Sun , Metallica is reportedly negotiating a deal to secure a major residency in Las Vegas for 2027.
According to the newspaper, the band is in advanced negotiations with executives at The Sphere . “They met with the bosses and the entire technical team to discuss and plan a show in principle. The contracts still need to be signed, but we were told they are 90% ready. Metallica will bring a different atmosphere to the show there. There is a lot of excitement on the part of those in charge at The Sphere about how this could be,” the newspaper posted.
After extensive runs of the M72 World Tour across North America, Europe, Oceania, and the Middle East, Metallica has opted to undertake a third European tour. For now, the final show of the tour is scheduled for July 5th at London Stadium, and there are no plans yet to announce a tour in South America.
Queen is also negotiating a residency at The Sphere , according to guitarist Brian May last September. In an interview with Rolling Stone , the guitarist said: “I’m very interested in the Sphere. It got my mind working. I was sitting watching the Eagles and thinking, ‘We should do this. The material we could bring to it would be stupendous.’ So, yes, I’d like to do it. We’re talking,” stated Brian May.
