Voting will be for concerts in Europe
Metallica has announced a new feature for their European tour next year: fans will have the opportunity to vote on the band's setlist .
Fans who purchase tickets for the online shows will receive an email directing them to a voting page where they can choose 17 songs to be played from the band's catalog of 140 songs. According to the official website, the 18th song of the show will be a new one.

The band's drummer, Lars Ulrich, commented that, in addition to being fun, the process will be good for him: "This takes a huge weight off my shoulders, as I'm always the one who writes the setlists .
Metallica's European tour will be in June 2014, with the first show scheduled for the 4th in Hamburg.
