Metallica has launched a website called MetallicaXX with a mysterious countdown that will reach zero at noon this Thursday, the 10th .

No further details have been revealed, but fans believe the countdown is related to the 20-year milestone, due to the Roman numeral XX in the website's URL. The idea also stems from the celebration of the two-decade anniversary of the live album S&M , which will have a sequel.

The performance was recorded during the group's shows alongside the San Francisco orchestra and will be shown in cinemas on October 9th.

Fans also speculate it has something to do with lead singer James Hetfield , who was recently admitted to a rehabilitation clinic . In the early 2000s, the singer struggled with alcohol addiction and anger issues.

While we wait for news on Thursday, it's worth remembering that Metallica will be coming to Brazil in 2020 with the Worldwired tour.
