Metallica Cliff Burton exhibit at the band's digital museum. Titled Orion : A Tribute To Cliff Burton , the digital exhibit is one of four collections planned in honor of the iconic bassist, who died in 1986.

“Orion” is the first of four exhibitions that will be on display at Black Box . The exhibition includes archival photographs, interviews, letters written by the musician, and other items, covering Burton’s time with Metallica, but also details of the musician’s personal life.

The first of the four exhibitions is currently underway, and the second exhibition will arrive at the Black Box on August 13th.
Cliff Burton in Metallica
Cliff Burton was a member of Metallica from 1982 until his tragic death at age 24 in a tour bus accident in September 1986. He was the primary songwriter for the band's first three albums: Kill 'Em All (1983), Ride The Lightning (1984), and Master Of Puppets (1986).
Jason Newsted replaced Burton until 2001, followed by Robert Trujillo who became Metallica's official bassist in 2003 and remains in the band to this day.
