In a post on their official Facebook page, Metallica announced that they will be releasing a new song this weekend.
In a photo with the band in the recording studio, the band writes: “Finalizing the details of the new song that we will premiere in South America in a few days .” The band has a show scheduled in Bogotá on Sunday.
Despite the announcement that the “Metallica By Request” tour dates will feature a new song, Metallica seems far from recording a new album. In February, Hammett revealed that the band had not yet gotten together to work on new music.
