Kirk Hammett got confused while playing the intro to "Nothing Else Matters" Metallica 's show Boston Calling festival , held last Sunday, the 29th.
The guitarist started playing, but messed up the chords and feigned a fainting spell on stage, making no attempt to hide the moment. Robert Trujillo joined in the joke and soon appeared to fan his colleague, who got up to explain what had happened to the audience. "You guys are so awesome that I got distracted," Hammett told the fans.
Still laughing, Hammett didn't take long to resume the show and the band continued with the setlist normally, with "Nothing Else Matters" performed without further mistakes. It's not the first time something like this has happened with the song, with recordings of Kirk getting lost in the intro at shows in other years, but the guitarist's good humor always makes the moment another part of the show.
