Metallica surpassed one billion streams on Spotify in 2019 .
The heavy metal legends celebrated the achievement on their official Twitter account. “1,026 decades of Metallica music were played in 2019,” they wrote. “Surreal! Thank you to the most dedicated fans in the world… you guys are amazing!”
In 2012, Metallica released studio albums, live material, singles, remixes, and more on Spotify for the first time.
