Metallica donated $250,000 (approximately R$1 million) to help organizations fighting the wildfires in California and along the West Coast of the United States .

The sum was donated through the All Within My Hands , which has supported various causes important to the band since its creation in 2017. "Wildfires have become an annual occurrence in California, and this year we have tragically seen them spread across the entire West Coast of our country," the band explained in a statement from the foundation.

“This is the fourth consecutive year, since the foundation’s creation, that All Within My Hands has actively helped fight the fires,” they wrote. The statement further explains that the chosen donation amount will be divided among five organizations that are assisting in fighting the fires.

“We encourage you to join us in helping those in need and first responders in any way you can, whether by donating money, non-perishable food, clothing and other supplies, or by volunteering your time or offering them safe and temporary shelter. Anything would help.”

The band's last major donation was almost R$2 million to help fight the new coronavirus in July of this year. Before that, they donated a slightly larger amount to the same cause. In January, the group contributed to fighting the fires in Australia.
