Metallica has already donated over 3 million reais to the fight against the pandemic

The band has used the All Within My Hands foundation to raise funds for organizations that help victims of the disease

In an interview with Full Frontal With Samantha Bee on TBS, Lars Ulrich discussed what Metallica has been doing to help combat hunger, especially now that the crisis has worsened due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The drummer commented on the statistics regarding people who may face hunger: “One in six Americans is on track to go hungry this year, and one in four are children, which is insane. And this is the highest number there has ever been.”.

The band founded All Within My Hands four years ago to help "areas of food insecurity, education and disaster areas" and since then, $2 from every ticket sold for their shows goes to the organization.

But now that the band is off the road, she has been using All Within My Hands to help victims of COVID-19. In April, Metallica donated $350,000 to a number of organizations and in early July they donated another $295,000.
