NME lists what bands faced
NME published a report on the bands most likely to survive the apocalypse. Alongside British bands Toploader and the Rolling Stones, are Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and Black Sabbath. The magazine listed the challenges each band has faced. Check them out below:
Guns N' Roses: Active since 1985.
What they've faced: Drug addiction, the death of two fans during a show in Donington, a 16-year delay for an album ("Chinese Democracy"), lineup changes, and being late to most of their shows.
Metallica: Active since 1981.
What they've faced: drug addiction, lineup changes, alcohol abuse, the death of Cliff Burton on the band's own tour bus, being defamed by fans for opposing Napster, the weariness of 25 years of pure rock.
Black Sabbath: Active since 1968.
Years active: 1968 – present.
What they have faced: guitarist Tony Iommi being diagnosed with cancer, mental health breakdown, drug addiction, lineup changes, Ozzy's reality show, Ozzy's various departures from the band.
