Metallica is among several artists who donated to the cause of Hurricane Helene, which devastated the United States. The disaster is considered the third deadliest in the country, having claimed more than 200 lives in its path. Through their foundation, All Within My Hands ( AWMH ), the group donated $100,000 (approximately R$ 560,000 at the current exchange rate) in an attempt to provide immediate and direct support to the victims of the catastrophe.
The band donated $50,000 to each of the following foundations: Team Rubicon and World Central Kitchen . Team Rubicon is a team that aims to clear the debris left by the hurricane, so that roads are clear and safe for aid to reach communities in need. World Central Kitchen makes efforts to provide drinking water and food to those who do not have access to them, partnering with various fast-food restaurants and cafes.
AWMH is donating a portion of the profits from ticket sales to make this support project a reality, focusing on cities it visited during its M72 World Tour .
