Metallica 's All Within My Hands Foundation donated $50,000 to Direct Relief .

“The devastating 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck the nation of Haiti on August 14 left at least 2,207 people dead, more than 12,200 injured and more than 50,000 homes destroyed,” the foundation said in a commentary. “Loved ones remain missing, finding little comfort in the bodies that are found. But some hope miraculously remains when survivors are discovered alive in the ruins, such as the 20 adults and four children – all missing – who were recovered and immediately transported to the hospital on Sunday.”.

According to the press release, the Direct Relief has been supporting Haitians for almost 40 years, and this history was precisely the reason why the Metallica Foundation chose to form this partnership.

Direct Relief provides emergency assistance following natural disasters around the world. In Haiti, the Santa Barbara, California-based nonprofit humanitarian medical organization is working with a larger coalition of responders and has begun shipping and equipping prescription medications, IV solutions, medical backpacks, emergency health kits, and wound care supplies to responding hospitals in Haiti.

All Within My Hands is a non-profit foundation created in 2017 as a way for Metallica to give back to the communities that have supported the band. In 2020 alone, AWMH donated $645,000 to Covid-19 related relief funds, including Feeding America, Direct Relief, as well as charities helping those in the entertainment and hospitality industries who were suddenly out of work.

Recently, the foundation donated $350,000 to help people affected by the wildfires on the West Coast of the United States. Finally, the Metallica Scholars Initiative is now in its third year and has fundamentally improved the earning potential for students who become Metallica Scholars.

Metallica and All Within My Hands are committed to running an organization with integrity, where expenses are kept to a minimum and paid entirely by the band. Furthermore, the board and friends who have worked with the band for many years are eager to help in this mission.

Helping Hands event , which includes tickets, fees, and auction items, went directly to helping those in need, with Metallica and the foundation covering all production costs and expenses.
