Band creates its own record label
On November 30th, Metallica announced that they now own all of their masterings, including all the songs and videos the band has ever made.
The band also stated that the recordings now belong to Blackened Recordings, the record label created by Metallica. Lars Ulrich stated that the idea was for the band to gain real independence, mainly in terms of artistic creativity, having total control over Metallica's future plans.
The band's next release, the DVD Quebec Magnetic, will be released through Blackened Recordings.
